Use backlinks if you want to get a good ranking in the search engine. What is called backlinks?

Refer to Wikipedia, Backlinks (or back-links (UK)) are incoming links to a website or web page. For example, site A links to site B, this means that the site B just get backlink from the site A. Also means that, site B has 1 backlink. This is a concept of (simple) backlink.

1. One-Way Backlink
2. Two-Way Backlink

If the site is to provide backlink is well and have a good position in search engines, then a good backlink is a type of One-Way.
When the site is to provide backlink not famous and do not have a good position in search engines, then a good backlink is a type of Two-Way.
